Hi, Thanks for logging onto my Thread!

Im Martin, 22 from Berkshire and have owned my 55 Plate Audi A4 for about 7 Months now and love it, I left behind an 03 plate A3 1.6 SE, lovely car but just so slow!

The A4 is a 1.8t and from memory they are 160-165bhp standard, massive step up from the A3 however i decided to try and upgrade her performance....

..... 1st: Pipercross Pannel Air Filter
..... 2nd: Stage One Re-Map and installation of the Forge recirculating valve
..... 3rd: Full Miltek Exhaust system with High V Miltek CAT
..... 4th: Stage 2 Re-Map applied with fuel pressure regulator (AMD)

With the above applied i have been told to expect about 210-230bhp and I can certainly feel a huge difference from when I first got the car, its not bad off the mark and will give most things a good go with an improved top speed.

At the end of the day I can't expect the world from her its a convertable and a weighty car, but im at a stage now were im happy and love to drive her, the exhaust note is suttle but enough to turn a few heads. Audis have become a bit of a passion and I don't think I could drive anything else! I will own an R8 before I die lol and or an RS4 convertable!

Last job i think (maybe you can suggest anything) is to change the wheels for the RS4 wheels in 18" or spray the S-line ones I have on there Graphite like the RS6 not sure though. Oh actually id like to get the RS mirrors chrome at some stage too.

Anyway here are a few pictures taken Saturday 17th Jan 2009 after a good wash and polish (just before it rained) in two different locations near me, let me know what you think, many thanks Martin.

If it were my car I'd have taken off those Chrome strips on the grill and then get some nice S-style mirrors.

Other than that, good looking car! I'd have skipped the panel filter part though I think. I've heard some horror stories.

I need a remap for my S3 though so glad to hear it made a big difference. :)

Who was your remap with? I think the most common seems to be Revo? I'd like a Custom Code remap to spread out the torque a little more I think. I just need to save up the £500 for a good remap, and a little more if I want the Milltek exhaust. :(

One thing I think would be beneficial is VAG-COM for fault diagnostics. Either that or look into the Liquid diagnostic systems. http://www.racediagnostics.com/cms/ They fit into your vents, although you will lose a vent because of it. I think that might be handy to have and that will be a toy in the future if I manage to save enough spare money. :)

EDIT:

Oh, and I like the wheels, if you do get RS4's, I'd keep them silver, they will look MUCH better on your colour of car IMHO and look much less chavvy!

Thanks for your comments, the grill was a little touch i added for a cost of some £6.00 chrome tape off ebay, makes it look a little unique, however im sure iv seen some standard audis with it some sort of limited addition or something maybe or maybe just other saddoes like me who wanna be different.

Mapping was done at AMD Technik there are two branches essex and surrey, specialise in audi, seat VW etc... mapping wasn't unreasonable cost wise £350.00 mark from memory, great to deal with professional set up and very helpful. they do all sorts they also sourced and fitted all of my bits including the miltek exhaust and cat, that was an expensive addition though i have to admit.

They have got a huge range of top notch audi's there from the RS6 to the R8 however i wouldnt like to cop a bill for tuning one of those up.

One car on one visit was a brand new red S3 (this was last year) the guy bought it from audi new and had it sent straight to AmD for mapping exhaust filters etc, hadn't even driven the car and clocked up an additional bill to the tune of £7,000 lol madness but also gained some serious bhp!

The only one thing with my dear car is now and then ill get the orange engine management light on my dash, its happend two or three times and after being scanned has come back as emissions due to the upgraded Cat, I would have thought the stage II map that accompanied the exhaust and Cat would have prevented this?????? anyway it rarely comes on and doesnt worry me that much.

I know what you mean about air filters and nightmares, as this is a pannel filter I didnt think it would matter and only help, my air flow sensor is running at about 86% affiency according to a recent scan so that changed should improve airflow and throttle response. No Bolt on halfords cones for these cars ay!
