Hopefully the mods wont move my post :D

I realised not many people actually have a their own "This is my car" thread, so here goes;

Stock

You all know what a 2001 B5.5 Passat looks like.

Then I hit 50,000 miles

Taken by my passenger

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/mycarsavw/4f5ffacf.jpg

Stock wheels, added OEM fogs, Hofele badgeless grille, chrome mirror covers, short antenna, Brembo MAX discs, Greenstuff pads and some stereo stuff.

Trying out my artistic licence

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/mycarsavw/acd78bc3.jpg

Fast forward 5,555 miles

Yup, I'm a geek, so what :P

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/mycarsavw/55555.jpg

I'm now lowered using a Koni Sports Suspension Kit, I've added an A6/S4 hybrid upper strut brace, tinted my rear lights and added an M3 lip spoiler - the badgeless grille is in the garage being refurbished - I hate stones and motorways

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/mycarsavw/DSC00045.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/mycarsavw/DSC00050.jpg

Further forward, still the same, only the grille is now back, I've moved house and bought a new camera.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v647/mycarsavw/Home.jpg

Suspension settles a little more and I finally get some new wheels!

<shameless plug>That's it so far, make sure you buy Golf+ (April 07) to see the feature on another of my clubs.</shameless plug>

Update - Spacers now added - pics to follow

Replying to your own thread before anyone else does ranks up there as one of the sadder aspects of the internet but...

Just bought Golf+ - nice feature on our club and my rear end is in there too ;)

Ouch! Your words, they hurt me so.

They're ASA ST2s, 17 x 7.5 (I think) - ASA are licensed by BBS.

But Merc wheels would fit. You'll need hub adapters to sort out the centre bore differences and different blots (M14 vs M12)

First off, I don't believe your passenger took that photo. ;)

And... tinted, you say? The rear lights are tinted? Cool! Just cos in that first photo they look coloured in silver? Then there's a black and white photie later that you can see the cluster through.

Is that just a tint or some sort of cover?

Nice car btw. Sorry to be late to the party. (I'm new :Blush2: and so clicking on some of these links for the first time)

They did, honest :(

Well, when I say tinted, I obviously mean sprayed with reflex silver paint ;)

I had to swap back to the original tail lights so you're right in that the cluster is easily visible in the latter pics. The kind policeman said something about rear reflectors and poor light output :o During the day they're not as obvious as they should be, at night they're fine.

And thanks for the comments

Hmmm :p

And that's a shame about the kind policeman, or rather, wot he said. I was half way to the shop for a tin of silver paint then...

Nice man! Geeky or not, the car looks sweet. Like the alloys.

Can you kindly tell me what size fit comfortably on a 1.9 TDi 99?
Do u have standard sound set up or have you vamped it up?

Regards

Thanks!

20s will fit without too much trouble but, in my opinion, 19s are the maximum. If you're not worried about looks you can stay stock height but if you're fitting 19s you'd at least want to fit some lowering springs.

I've changed the head unit for a Blau LA MP something - amazing how much difference a change of head unit makes.

I wondered that too.

I also noticed that there was a distinct lack of fluids as indicated be the 2 amber warning lights.

All in all, nice and tidy.

I pressed reset at 55000, not that tricky to work out at all.

She has arms, she stretched, again, not tricky ;)

I hit 49,999 just as both the petrol and the washer fluid lights came on. Someone was trying to tell me something :(

Thanks for the comments.
