2002 TT Roadster - Electrical Faults

Hi,
Whilst my wife was driving home yesterday the instruments completely died, but the car otherwise was ok. When I looked at it later the fuse had gone for the instrument cluster, however when replaced blows again. I then started the car and it immediately cut out...This is still the case today!
Has anyone experienced similar, or knows what it going on?

The car is a 2002 TT Roadster, 225bhp

Check the fuses on top of the battery.
The starting and cutting out could be an immobilisor problem.
Audi replace dashpods on TT's FOC.
