Hi,
Just had my 1998 VW passat (1.8 petrol) down at KwikFit to have an oil and filter change and a new battery installed. I also wanted them to look at my exhaust which seemed to be blowing a bit in line with the front doors. Having no ramp and with being busy and lack of light after work I haven't been able to look.
I was hoping it would be the exhaust but the guy said it is blowing from like a connecting pipe in the cat converter and says I will need a whole new unit at £385!!!!! Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
I have found Cat converters for this model on ebay for £50.
Regards
Russell.
