Starter Motor Golf 1.6

Hi all

2003 1.6 Golf - touch wood shes going pretty well, however.....

Every morning I start her she starts first time, but there is a pronounced "whirr" from what I can only think is the starter motor. It only lasts a fraction of a second but sounds worrying!

If I driver for a while, stop, and restart, it doesn't make the same noise.

The wee car is still under warranty and as such, I'm keen to know if I should be worried by this!

A high pitched squeal? Mine does it. Never had a problem (touch wood!). Don't worry.

wen i had my 1600 it did the same but i was told the car was charging to much the the alternator 2 handle but mine never went wrong or i never had any probs with it
