Engine cuts out

I have a 2004 VW Passat TDi. It cuts out when driving without warning leaving me without power steering or brakes. It takes about 20 seconds or more of turning over to restart it again. It''s done about 100K miles. It has been hooked up to a computer but there was no recorded errors. Im pretty sure there's a slight loss of power before the car cuts out. Hope you guys can help!

does the car start up first time after its gonna off on you?

No. It takes several attempts. In some cases it wont start at all.

i would think you got a bad injector
or look on the air filter box there is small vacum pump with two vacum pipes on it and a push on wires clip check thts them wires or not broken?
they rub on the plastic cover and the split had this prob on a friend of mine cars

Does it cut out when its cold or only after its warmed up?

First time it cut out id already driven about 50 mile. Its cut out a good few times after 5 or 6 mile. It cuts out regularly after 5-10 minutes. Id say If I timed it theyd all be in and around the same, apart from that first time.

Ok its a long shot but check the wiring from the crank sensor and the cam sensor.I had a Omega with the same prob,the wiring from the crank sensor was to near to the exhaust,the wire would melt and earth out on the exhaust when hot then when it cooled the insulation hardened up and the car would run again for about 6 miles then short out again,hope this helps
