Climatronic steams up

Hello All.

I have a Mk4 Golf GTi 1.8 20v turbo with Climatronic. More and more frequently, no matter what I do to the settings, my windscreen and windows steam up and the only way to clear them is to drive with the windows open.

The system was re-gased recently and the cooling works well, but the hot air always seems moist. I'm not aware of any rainwater leaks in the car as everthing feels dry.

It's too cold to drive with the windows open, so I'd be really glad of some advice! Thanks.

Hi i think the recirculating flap motor is stuck.which means the system is recirculating the air from the interior of the vehicle,and that will steam up the windows

Thanks for the response Kenny. Your theory sounds perfectly logical! Is it a complicated job for a garage to fix?

No compared to the other regulating motors it is easy to replace.If you remove the glove box you will see it.and if you remove the motor you might be able to free the flap,
