My car is a Model B5 Passat 1.8T sports, registered in 1999.
Just before Xmas I sensed that the climatic was not behaving as it should - for the first time ever the windows were misting up. This was followed by coolant "low level" indication and inspection showed the resevoir level to be below mimimum. There was no sign of leakage under the bonnet but found the PS footwell was well and truly soaked. The car was static for four days and monitored. The resevoir level continued to drop with no apparent liquid increase in the footwell.
Has anyone experienced this phenomenon at all and if so how did you resolve it?

I am more familiar with other makes however this shows all the signs of a failed heater matrix.
