Hi There,

I own an 07, Urban Fox, 1.4, and is coming up to it's second birthday and it is getting near to its 20k service.

I have received a price of £200.85 for the service from our local VW dealership.

From what i can gather the service is just oil and a few filters and nothing special to warrant 2 hours labour time to do an oil change etc.

Where does everyone else get their car serviced? Or does everyone just take the hit from the dealers to keep dealer history?

We are based in Leicestershire but travel down to Milton Keynes regularly and to Nottingham way so is no shakes to travel to get good service.

Thanks for any help and advice you can give :-)

Where abouts in Leicestershire are you? I suggest a good independent VW specialist that would use genuine VW parts but charge half the labour costs and thus keep your warranty in tact.

I use the one in Hinckley and they are spot on.

Thanks very much for the reply.

We are in Thorpe Astley but i work in Hinckley near the leisure centre so would be pretty easy to get to that one.

Thanks again.

No problem. They use Quantum oils just as the main VW dealer does (including long life if that's the programme you are on) as well as using OEM components. Just make sure that you specify genuine components to keep the warranty up.
