Please help!! I have a 1998 Audi A8 quatro 4.2. Recently put on new tires (computer balanced) Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread. Experienced no problems for the first 2000 miles on the new tires. I have suddenly began to experience a very noticeable vibration throughout the entire cabin. The vibration seems more noticeable when accelerating at 40+ mph. When coming to a slow stop I have noticed a faint "tick" or clicking sound. Also seems more prevalent in fourth and fifth gears at moderate acceleration. Any suggestions?

Tyres have to be run in and may have to have them rebalanced after a few hundred miles, maybe the garage would rebalance them for you if you showed them the issue ?

Another thing to check is that the wheel bolts are all tight !

Just some thoughts...

I've just test driven a S8 and had the same problem but the vibration was at 70 mph and occasionally on braking. The mechanic checking the car thinks it is either track control arm bushes or the wheel balance may need correcting.
