Taken from the Ross-tech wiki

Possible Symptoms
Power Loss
Possible Causes
Leaking hoses and/or pipes between components
Check Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249)
Possible Solutions
Check hoses and/or pipes between components
Check / Replace Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249)
Check / clean Throttle Valve, do Throttle Body Alignment
Special Notes
Did anyone fitted an extra (wrong) dump valve?

hi.

thanks for the reply. Just had it remapped. The guys there said that the fault code was n249 but was also saying open loop in this area. they checked the sensor on the boost control this was plugged in. We removed the code and it appeared again. Guttted really cos not geeting a benfit from the remap with this crappy boost loss!!!

They said some of the wires in the engine bay had already been hacked into looks like they had a multimeter on it

Is their any mechanics in the manchester vicinity that can help and wont rip me off???

cheers
Mike

I had this on my Golf Turbo and it turned out to be a knacked dump valve, the originals can be a little fragile. I replaced mine with a Forge 007 and never got it again.

The fact that the idle feels lumpy suggests an air leak. This culd be the contol valve but I would look for a cracked/split pipe.
