This is a newbie question, so apologies if the topic's been covered before (I searched, but couldn't see one)

Two days ago, the brake warning light came on my dashboard. I read through the Seat Owner's manual, and it seemed to say that I was seeing a brake fluid warning light - return to Seat dealer. The accompanying sketch identified the brake fluid reservoir but, on examination under the bonnet, the unit tseems to be a complex affair with a split pin, and several tubes firmly affixed to the top surface.
Surely I can top up the fluid reservoir myself - or am I being hopelessly optimistic (having never owned a Seat before)

Advice gratefully accepted.

****Told you I was a newbie - I just found the reservoir behind the air filter pipes, and filled using an old cake icing syringe.
