drivers door

i have a mark 4 tdi and drivers door wont shut it is as if the catch is not locking but when i move a couple of times with my fingers up and down then close the door it catches and stays shut so have to climb over seat so not to open the door any help please:aargh4:

Did you ever get to the bottom of this problem?

My 99 Passat drivers door won't close despite lots of WD40 and slamming as suggested amny times on other threads.

It's amechanical problem and I'm damned if I'm going to spend £90 odd on a new mechanism if it can be repaired.

Have you fixed it yet?
