Dipped headlight not working

My dipped headlight is not working on my new Beetle and after spending about 2 hours getting the whole light fitting out to change it, testing the bulb, which was fine, when i put it back in it worked fine, for a little while, it is now not working again

Can anyone suggest what could be the problem?

sounds like a bad connection if it worked after taking out and putting it back in,have you checked the power supply at the headlights?

I wouldn't have a clue where look now? Maybe i should just take it to a gagarge and get them to have a look
