Today I had my first drive with the car in manual mode.
pulled out of the junction ( a wee bit sharpish) and all sorts of revving :D
Next thing i know I am in third gear without changing up.

so, purely in the interest of investigation, i slowed right down put it in second and floored it.

Sure enough when it hit the red line it changed up.

you can't break it, won't let you! same applies changing down as well. I've got the paddles and they're excellent for changing down when you want to get a bit of a shove on for overtaking, without using kick down in drive mode, balance it right tap the button and floor it gone......very quickly, holds it in manual mode for about 30 secs, if you don't change gear, then reverts to auto! great fun, good for kicking on at roundabouts etc

Hey guys i love my DSG in manual. I also noticed that by driving it in manual the mpg is miles better round town as i normally have my 2 year old son so not trying to break the land speed records. I have only one complaint. i dont have paddles...:(
