A4 ABS problem

A fault is appearing on my dash for the ABS. I have never had this before. It is a 2002 1.9tdi sport, any ideas what it might be. I also know I have a leak somewhere in my hydraulics as the rereservior for holding the hydraulics has been dropping. Is this more likely to be the pump.

I had a brake light fault come up on my 2002 3.0Q. My rear pads were down to 5% and needed to be replaced. I replaced the pads and haven't seen the light since.

I also think that EXTREME cold can trip the light as well. I have seen it even on new A4's at 0 degrees F. Comes on then goes away.

If you are losing fluid...get it fixed ASAP! It's not worth your life my friend! I'll bet that could be part of the reason for the ABS Fault. You should see the fluid residue around the area that is leaking. I really recommend getting VAG-COM. It can help you diagnose and isolate problems. I haven't bought one yet but I am getting one really really soon.
