New convert to Audi. Used to be BMW owner, as is my fanatical son. He now describes me as "gone over to the dark side". Mind you, can't keep him out of it once he had a drive.

Any other RS4 2.7 Bi-turbo Avant owners out there,?would love to exchange experiences, have not seen any RS4 related posts.

My car is 2001 and like all 6 year old cars has its share of supermaket dings and small dents. They mysteriously appear, no matter how careful you are; even one in the roof which the previous owner blames on his wife. Reason for mentioning this is I went to a trusted body shop to have the bonnet resprayed ( car is solid black and stone chips were spoiling appearance). Visiting the body shop was a specialist dent remover. I had seen them advertised, but had no experience of their process or how successful it was. He made me an offer. To cut it short, he completely removed all the minor dent damage around the car for less than the cost of the bonnet re-spray. I truly was impressed. Even the one in the roof is gone without trace, and this looked a bit like a centre punch mark.

I cannot say they are all as good as each other, but don't be afraid to try them. It is the fraction of the cost of a respray.

2.7 bi-turbo.... You my friend, are one lucky son of a ...... :D

Would love that engine in my Fabia but for now I will stick with the diesel lump. I have been in a VW passat which had this engine transplanted in it - that didn't half shift! :)

Nice choice. Much better than a BMW in my opinion.

Welcome aboard from a fellow Southern member

Hi blush2
Bi-turbo simply means twin turbo's. It is a V6 engine and has a turbo for each side. I don't know whether they work in tandom or sequentially, but the power, (all 380 BHP) of it goes down like a bolt of silk. Maybe someone out there knows ??.
The new RS4 drops the turbos and and boasts a 4.2 N/A power unit. I have driven that as well and I would't swap mine. No question it's a brute, but you cannot return more than about 18mpg, even trying hard. Round town it's about 11. Driving the 2.7 like a nun, you can return 30 mpg on a run, but even having a bit of fun it still gives yo around 22 mpg.

Hope this helps, and I hav't upst too many 4.2 drivers!!., or too many nuns

Twin turbo is the more common term. Bi-turbo is the VAG moniker.

Either way the noise/drive/power is awesome...dude!
