Audi 80 tdi misfire!

Hi everyone, can anyone out there explain to me what might be causing a misfire on my dads audi 80 tdi? it seems to happen mostly when going up hills or under hard aceleration which might suggest to me a lack of fuelling to one or more of the injectors? perhaps a fault in the injector pump? i would appreciate any help you can offer, thanks..

sounds like you might have the dreaded juddering. this is down to the pump actuator. have a look on the threads relating to this in this section as all the info is in there.
