15 Second Startup

Just wondering if anyone else gets this problem. More of a nuisence than anything.

Vento 1.9 Diesel.

When I hop into the car I turn the ignition, wait about 15-20 seconds and it starts up fine. (After a relay click I think) Any other attempt to start the car won't work. It's a great anti-theft device but its just annoying me lately! My understanding is the time spent waiting is the glow plugs warming up.

Anyone have a solution?

hi mate,
i have a vento 1.9 turbo diesel & the way you explained sounds like mine
but only the first time you start it from cold in the morning,

after mine has started it will start all day straight away with no- heat,

all i can say mate is try changing your heater plug relay & see if that makes a difference as yours sounds like its on its way out (getting lazy)
