Audi A3 electrical problems following side impact crash

Hi , a few months ago, my car was hit by a reversing lorry when i wasnt in it. The insurance have sorted the damage to the side but I am still arguing about them paying for electrical damage which I believe was caused by the impact. I'd never had any problems with my v reg 1.6 A3 in this way and then 2 days after the crash, the car wouldnt start. I had to get it towed and get someone to fix the electrics which cost me £100. Then 2 weeks later I was on the M6 when suddenly the speedometer stopped working and then the power to the engine went... the same electrical problems again and the car wouldnt restart. This time it mean a whole new electrics system which was about another £500- pod? instrument cluster?
The insurance say this is unrelated but I am conviced it's dircetly related- any ideas or knowledge of faults with audis in this area?
