Hi there
Have recently bought a second hand A4 1.8 (1996). Not being very good mechanically was a bit nervous but took gamble. Car drives well on open raod but have noticed that when I slow and change down gears (...say at a roundabout/traffic circle) the car suddenly has very poor acceleration/power and limps a bit before picking up speed...can be quite tricky if another car is behind.

From trawling the interenet am I correct in thinking that this could be the air flow/mass meter?

Any help would be appreciated.http://www.audi-forums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif http://www.audi-forums.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Thanks for the reply RickT

When I first got the car the car's revs would pulse a little when at rest, but this has gone now (..a new battery had been installed so I assumed that it was resetting idle settings). So I wouldn't say that it is rough on idle.
