I have a 2004 1.9tdi with a broken bonnet handle! Please dont ask why i pulled so hard but i did.
i was having problems trying to get the bonnet open and today i had it booked in for a service so i thought i'd get that looked at too. Now when i came to pull the handle it just wouldnt budge so the devil on me took over and i was left with the handle in my hand and the bonnet still shut, damn :zx11:
The mechanic had a look and said 'your f##ed now' anyway he managed to get it open by pulling the cable real hard and has greased the catch mechanism which has made it a little easier. What i would like to know is it a big job in replacing the handle or is it straight forward as in screw out and screw in! and is there another reason why the handle became so stiff? Any advice appreciated guy
