I went to Costco today to get 2 tyres fitted, but the waiting time was 3 hours, so I'll do it another day. I did notice that as well as the Michelin Primacy HPs, they also have Michelin Energy in the same size (205/55R16) for the same price.

Has anyone any thoughts on the benefits of the Energys? Do they increase fuel efficiency by sacrificing grip?

I'd welcome your thoughts before I go and buy them in the next few days.

They're to go on the back of an Audi A6 Avant 2.4 SE (FWD)

Well, I read the blurb in my Michelin leaflet, and the page about the Energy said that having a set of 4 fitted can save you £50 in petrol over the tyre life!

So by my calculations, that's about 1% fuel saving than. Not really worth writing home about if you ask me.

So I bought the Primacy HPs. They were speed rated W and the Energy only a V.

imo low rolling resistance tyres are worth the effort because they run cooler as well as the obvious benefits...less likely to lose pressure due to overheating imho
