Ive just bought 1.9 which is on a long life service.
It has 14000 miles on the clock.
The longlife service I have booked it in for is just an oil change, what would I get if I changed to a standard service? Im told if I changed, it would be a 20,000 mile standard service.
The lady on the service desk didnt know and there was no mechanic about.:(
I tend to service every year as I do a fair bit of stop and start driving.
Thanks

Thats all it gets!next service(over 20000) youll get a pollen filter and oil change and if its 2 yrs old a brake fluid service too.Just stick to the longlife, the comp.will alter the miles to next service as its being used,ie,motorway driving or town,stop-start etc.The better its driven, the longer the service interval.

I tend to service every year as I do a fair bit of stop and start driving. If the engine gets cold between stops and doesn't get really hot after each start, I'd change the oil every 10k miles, especially if it's your car and you intend to keep it.

Get it programmed onto fixed interval servicing and still use the longlife oil How many miles a year do you do?
