I have purchased a new style Audi key to replace an old style key.

Does anyone know the method to programme it in the ignition? or does it mean a trip to the dealer?

Thanks,

Hi, if it's the same as my old Mk4 Golf then it's a costly trip to the dealer I think, I think I was quoted £120 for programming!!!

hope you find a bet alternative,

Russell

This post is interesting.

What if you have an older A3 (2004-2006) and you want to change the flip key fob to the newer style? Bit better looking...strange as it sounds. But the version mentioned just seems tired and old.

Would you have to have the actual key-metal bit re-cut for the ignition switch? Or is it a case of getting it off ebay for a quid and programming it?
