Hi folks,
Which oil should I use in my 1.9 diesel Octavia (1999,90 bhp, only 25.000miles)?........... I'm inclined to go for Millers.

Thw sticker on the bottle with the marketing badge doesn't matter, millers/shell/quantom etc.

What counts is that it must say it meets vw spec 505.01. Or if you want go for the even fancier oil 507.00 which may give you slightly more mpg. Change it every 10k to look after your motor. A lot of people on the older tdi (pre pd) like yours use 10w40 semi synthetic and it seems to work just fine thugh with regular changes. Unless on an ultra tight budget, go for 505.01 at least. Don't forget oil degrades with time too, I recomend yearly/10k whichever comes first. Longlife and extended service intervals are evil!

Greg.
