View Full Version : Rear Seatbelt buckle the wrong side of the belt??

The other day was the first time I needed to use the center rear seatbelt, so imagine my surprise when I found that it couldn't be done up as the metal buckle was located the 'wrong side' of a small plastic stud in the belt itself. There's no way it can slide over the stud so I can only guess must have been like that from new.

Any ideas on how to remove/fit the plastic stud or how on earth to get the buckle fitted correctly?

Cheers,
Andy

We had a similar problem on the Mrs 54 A3 sportback but only noticed it because the seat belt became completely tight and locked solid with no spare to pull to release. I had to take the seat up and undo the bolt to release the belt and then was able to turn the belt through the buckle to get it in the right position.
She had the car from new so we beleive that the belt had got twisted and pulled by the kids which eventually turned it over in the buckle.
Hope this helps.
