The lights have gone out !

Dashboard lights & centre console lights suddenly went off yesterday on way home, will only get chance to look at weekend so if anyone can shed some initial light on the problem, greatly received. Is it going to be as simple as a fuse, or is there going to be more problems ahead !?!? :aargh4:

The first thing to check would be the control for dimming the dash lights (in speedo area). It just may be that some dust or similar has affected it over time and it needs to be repositioned to a different setting.

There is a fuse for that... and the fault could be the known problem of the bending cable at the bootlid - near the hinges. If so, quite a few messages about that already with ideas of what to do.
