Just joined this forum so I would like to introduce myself. I am a retired HGV mechanic getting rather long in the tooth but still have my uses. Slowly getting out of touch with modern technology so this forum should be of help.
I have a friend who is at the moment on holiday in Canaries and has left his Sharan at home with problems with the auto transmission. It is losing drive on gradients and heavy acceleration.
I won't see this vehicle for 10 days and i have a feeling his transmission oil may be low, and as he does not have a manual for this car I am also wondering if there is a filter on the system that may be ready for changing.
Can anyone give advice.
Forgot to mention that this friend lives in France and is visiting family in this country, but has decided to go to Canaries for a short holiday and will visit me on his return.
