Hello all

:1zhelp: There is no Haynes manual for my 1999 A6 1.8T Avant.

Is the A6 just a big A4 cos they do a manual for that ?

I need to find its MAF as I've heard that cleaning the element in one has given good results on other vehicles that have them.

Wodja fink ?

HI!,
I had a BMW 530d 2001 and the maff had gone. The wires were intact so I tried cleaning with white meths. The result was the same. There are electronic circuit parts inside these maffs and when they are gone , You must replace the maff. One way to test if the maff has gone is to disconnect the plug attachment at the maff and take the car for a run, if the car responds better with the maff disconnected then the maff is gone, however, when you disconnect anything electrical, especialy to do with the running of the engine/ecu etc. You will probably store a fault in the memory that may need clearing.
