Does anyone know if the 4motion estate has a smaller boot than the front wheel drive version - I remember this was the case with the Mark V Golfs.

Also can anyone who has previously owned a B5.5 estate comment on the respective load lugging abilities of it and the B6 estate. I am contemplating an upgrade as there are some well priced B6 sport estates out there just now.

Don't think there's any more luggage space, and the extra size of the motor has gone into the interior.

Haven't had another estate myself, but the luggage area seems narrowish compared to other estates.

Not that big (1,650 cubic feet) compared to the likes of the (old) Mondeo (1,750) and Vectra (1,850), but certainly useful load space compared to some cars in its class.

I drove a 4 Motion Tdi 140 Estate in Austria 6 months ago and as far as I can recollect the boot area was no smaller!
