my first 3 cars came to less than £200 combined, but due to the a4 being ill i have just borrowed the old mans laguna, and boy its bad.... 2005 plate, 2.0l 16v i think, not quite top spec, but not far off.... bad steering( dangerous under steer), brakes(vicious, then kinda disappear), driving position, ( had to have the sun roof cover bit open to fit), steering wheel obstructs the dials, accelerator pedal is proper stiff. could go on. like i say, i have driven some bad cars, but this is REAL bad.
others for my list are;
citroen berlingo van, mainly for brakes and seating position, and viability.
renault clio 1.2, mk 1. just bad, but cheap!
ford escort 1.2 mk 2, odd gears(think this is why i dont like fords), horribly guttless and seems to not turn left very well. or right.
pug 106 994cc, my first car and i loved it. but it is a turd.
these may be one bad car i that has been abused in the past that i have driven and the rest are great, but who knows?
any thoughts?:beerchug:

a friend has a mazda 323 v6 on a p reg that i have driven and it was alright, a bit hairy, not as good as he says, buts thats the only mazda i have driven. ax are also nasty, agree with you there. and any car without power steering should be on the list!

i like! the ford escort cosworth is beautiful but not had the honor to drive one... imo ford gearboxes dont feel right, almost not enough positive movement, feels like moving a stick in a bag of bolts....

i love fiats! owned a uno, proper old clapped out thing but just kept on going.... dont use the clutch, just rip the gears and keep your foot on the gas! exhaust kept on falling off though thinking about it... ended up upside down in a field, rolled it over and drove it to the scrappy, get in! the punto my mum had and was ok for a city car, not good trim though, real cheap..... and the punto turbo was good, just well unreliable, and well beatable...

One of the lads I work with had an Austin Marina that he was telling us about the other day. The floor pan had rusted so much and had so many holes in that he stenciled a picture of Fred Flintstone on the bonnet as a joke. The back windows you to drop open randomly and the car was all round crap (but his first car). It made a journey to the scrappy when he took it in for a bit of work and the garage owner refused to let him drive off in it, the engine had dropped over an inch and was being held in place by the gearbox (I think).

Cars nowadays don't rust like they used to...

my mate used to be the only one of us with a car and he borrowed his dads beige 1600 e reg bluebird, a tank of a car that had the worst suspension in the world and was sooooo wide it sat 3 if us in the back easily!! we sat in luxury though, beige velour i think, with that familiar japanese spec ribbing on it. it barely moved off the mark with any full throttle starts and the 3rd time we borrowed it, the thing developed a rather bad smell and a slipping clutch, which never cured. a truly horrible car!!

you cant knock the rs fords!!

The worst bit about these cars is their complete refusal to die no matter how much abuse/neglect they're given.

My Fiat is fine, though it has had it problems but more than makes up with smiles of fun. The Rovers I owned were fine and the Hyundai Sonata we hired on holiday was great. I guess we all have our own experience as my VW Passat was hardly reliable and fault free at first.

Pretty Awfull Sometimes Sits And Leaks (could not find a word beginning with T for leak :p) So from now on the VW Passal :D

My dad's old 72 Cortina had a fourth pedal to operate the wash and wipe, I am sure the wash was primed/ejected using a small rubber bubble doins in the centre of this fourth pedal.

Oh and a chap I know uses his Lotus Espirit V8 every day and it has never let him down.

It's all down to the way they're driven, cars don't go on for ever if they're thrashed within an inch of their poor lives. Yes it's a sports car as opposed to a racing car that has it's engines rebuilt every race or two, so people who expect to drive round on their rev limiter because they've got a fast car all day with no problems (that probably haven't changed the oil or plugs since God know's when) really haven't got a clue.
