i have a 80 avant 1z 1.9 tdi.the prob is i have a flat spot at 1200rpm and its a bugger to start.i can see air coming down from the pump under the bonnet,a mechanic said to replace the fuel lines for the hole car(£130.00+vat parts camerons perth) would i be better buying a air flow meter first for the flat spot then get the lines done just im worried im going to burn out my starter. Also im thinking of replacing the suspension for the hole car what is the best set up as i have bought a set of cabriolet alloys with 205/55/15 and want to drop the car down abit but not ruin the ride.im def keeping the car so want to put it back to factory looks with a twist (diesel s2/rs2) can anyone help also like to here from scottish members, thanks Brent in perth.

There are several threads in this section relating to the same problems you have mentioned in your post so without trying to sound arsey, you will probably find the answer to your questions elsewhere in this section.
