so what typical economy benefits can be gained on a 3.0TDi ? It is doing 42mpg on a run.

Its hard to tell , Every one's drving style is diffrent.. We have had re-ports back with a guy that had a Q7 3.0 tdi.. he was seeing 420miles to a tank full now getting 450ish.. Now not every car will do that, But with the added power and if you drive it using the power as a tool you will see it impove.

Hope that helps a little..

Thanks Mike

I noticed from road test reports that the same 3.0TDi engine produces peak torque at 1400rpm in the A8 and at 4000 in the A5 which is obviously aimed at a more sporting drive.
The former sounds as though it should be more economical in the smaller body of the A5 and if it were possible to switch between the two when required would deliver the best of both worlds.

Any thoughts ?
Cheers
Ian
