Removing speaker covers. how?

Does anyone know how the front door speaker covers come off? I tried pulling them off but they seem stuck to the door.

Remove the door card, the speaker covers are held by melted plastic posts.

Oh bugger! Is there a way to mod them so one can remove without having to take door card off?
