I have a 92 Corrado VR6 (overbored to a 2.9L) - for the last couple of weeks after turning the ignition I would hear a "Brrrrrrrrr" which I thought was the starter going.
Yesterday the gearbox seized up in either 2nd or 4th (I believe 2nd) gear.
I can't shift, and had to drive the car 4 miles home. Is this the gearbox, the transmission, or both?
How easy is this to fix (can the tranny be rebuilt) or if I buy a transmission what's the average cost orn parts and labor? Can other VW transmissions/gearboxes be substituted?
