Hi all, I recently purchased an A3 1.8T and have noticed a small amont of rust on the driver door at the bottom near the seal(I understand this is quite common?). I've looked through the warranty booklet and it says the car is covered with a 12 Year Anti-corrision warranty by Audi. The car was registered in 1999 so is within the time scale, but are there any factors that could void the warranty or should it be as simple as taking it to my local Audi garage (Ipswich)

Thanks Steve.

make sure theres no damage near the corrosion - scratches, stone chips, etc
check if the vehicle has been in any sort of accident and make sure it is the original audi colour otherwise your on your own!

they'll find any excuse to wriggle out of it btw... :zx11:

thats the last time i recommend audi or their a3/s3 range to anyone..

on the plus side, i'm getting a pal to do it for a small amount so its not toooooo much of a ballache! [literally 2x 2" corroded patches on the roof rack rails area]
