Can anyone give details on the A3 factory fitted security?

Its the '56 1.9TDI

Whats you opinion on upgrading it, is it worth it or not?

And if it is, can it be done so the upgraded alarm works of the same fob as the key?

I'm not going to upgrade my A3's security, I might need the cash for repairs (!)...anyway, here is a quote from Audi's own website:
