Just a feeler to gauge interest for an evening meeting of forum members.

It would be intended that would be;

1, On a weekday evening.

2, In a central easy get-to-able location.

3, Last only an hour or two.

The purpose of the meet would be to simply chat about our cars, kick the tyres and I'd even bring the laptop along with VAGCOM for fault scans and basic adaptions (alarm beep, auto door locking etc.)

As they say, it is good to talk, good to network and good to pick up knowledge and tips from other like minded people on car ownership and maintainence.

As far as you thinking, your car is nothing special, don't worry, I drive an old shed of a Passat and couldn't give a monkies anyway. Just come along.

Please show your interest in this and post a reply in this thread.

As I'm organising this I propose either a Monday or Tuesday evening (can't do Weds / Thurs / Fridays as the Mrs is at work and have to look after the kids).

So, any Monday or Tuesday eve, date to be confirmed.

Location, I propose the Tesco superstore in Slough as it is undercover, very well lit and just happens to have a Krispy Creams donut shop attached for errr donuts and coffee !

I'm up for a meet, providing it doesn't clash with work !
I have VCDS 805 too !
Slough's not too far for me either.

Good good.

Lets keep bumping this thread up so people notice it.

Also, as there are now two of us, what are your preferences for location?

Definitely got to be either a Mon or Tues eve though.

hi Col
I'm in Bracknell, but the thought of Krispy Kreams.... Tesco's good !
Tyresmoke have a meet once a month in Windsor park then move on to a pub,
Now that the nights are drawing in the park is out, it would be good to find somewhere
with good lighting.

Just spotted this one.

It's a trek, especially for a work day, but stick me down as tentative ;)

Just the 3 of us then..........

Looks like it. However these things seem to take ages to gather momentum.

The last and so far only meet from here was a joint venture between here and UKPassats. This forum was outnumbered 10:1.

There was me, Sam (mycarsavw) and one other all the others were from UKPassats.

not strictly true...

there was a rolling road meet, with myself, Ben, stuart, Nick and rick....

again however, we were outnumbered by a tribe to a few, courtesy of Briskoda. :Blush2:

the same principle applies however, it's a lot of work and it's always poor attendance :(

I think the members that are most active are scattered too far and few between. :(

I'd love a good VWAF meet, but coming all the way down to south/mid England is a bit far. Maybe a meet somewhere near the borders might be more reachable and if planned for the not too immediate future might prove quite fruitful as people could save up/book days off, etc in order to be there?
