My mother has a 2003 polo 1.2 5 door. My brother who has just got his licence managed to drive it into a kerb. There is no body damage or steering problems. However the inpact has activated the side impact air-bag (from the seat) and the two seat belt pre-tensioners.
We are currently waiting for a quote back for all this damage at the minute (From the main ********). But is there any way round buying the parts that I suspect will need to be replaced?
Seat complete with airbag unit
Two seat belt pre tensioners
Two Seat belts
Impact sensor
Diagnostic resetting of airbag syatem
If this was my car, the seat would be stitched up and the air bag light by-passed. However my mother wants to keep everything right so she is insisting on fixing everything.
My question is will the front impact airbag still activate with the air bag light on, i presume not. Also has anyone come across this before and found a cheaper alternative company to carry out repairs
