tyre pressures

I've got an Audi A4 B5 1.8 with replica RS4 8x18 alloys with 225/40 18 tyres. I've not long bought the car, the alloys came with the car, what should the tyre pressures be? ive currently got them at 36psi

36 seems high, pressures normally float around 28-32 psi. There should be some stickers on the door frame of inside the fuel cap. Failing that, any half decent garage will have a pressure chart on the wall.
