I'm looking to fit a centre armrest in my 2005 3.2 S-line and Audi have quoted me £300ish to fit one. Seems steep and I'm comfortable in getting one fitted but does anybody know where I could source one at a reasonable price?

Does anybody have one to sell?

I have now managed to source the leather armrest. Does anybody know where the best place to get a .pdf of the fitting instructions or a how to guide to fit one?

I tried VAG Parts but couldn't find their downloadable manual.

Cheers

http://www.vagparts.com/pages/Armrest.htm

obviously further down the page is a step-by-step guide. You can print off.

I have encountered an issue with the installation of my retro fit armrest. Having removed the centre console the armrest will slot into place but the bolt Audi does not thread into athreaded hole. There is a hexaganol hole instead. Assuming there would be a hexagonal socket with a thread in the middle to slot into the hole and the bolt will thread in. I went down to Bristol Audi and saw the rottweiler that seems to be the gatekeeper for the parts department. After explaining the situation she left me for 10 mins to investiagte out the back. She trundled back after I had nothing better to do and claimed no such part exists, claiming the bolt threads direct into the frame. Refusing to look at my car which was parked 2 metres away and claiming that the "master" technician had also confirmed there was no need of a part and couldn't be pulled off a job to discuss. She required me to book my car in to find out if there was a need of a part???????? I politely refused and walked off knowing I would never ever get that 30 minutes of my life back.

Can anybody help with the part number of this hexagonal nut for the armrest bolt to go into?

I think what you need is “N 909 318 01, riveted cap nut for models with centre arm rest, illustration 711-50” at £1.20 each which fits into the handbrake assembly but the quantity is shown as 1 which doesn’t make sense. These are hexagonal rivet nuts and you may get away with putting it in and screwing the armrest down on it but really you need the special riv nut gun, like the one I have made by Würth that cost about £300 ten years ago.

I've got the same problem here with fitting the armrest - did you manage to get the right part from Audi in the end? If so do you happen to have the part number for the bolt? Thanks.

Managed to fit one using a M8 bolt and nut.
