after finding a cheap a4 2.6 quattro and doing an insurance quote on it, i realised wow, good car for £800 a year (20y/o, 0ncb, 3points for speeding, uni student)
so yeah here to find out about the car, costs etc.

the 1.8 is strangely more expensive to insure though :confused:

i just need to find a decent "cheap" one now....and get the money!
somehow i doubt £999 is gonna be a decent one, also its been slightly molested.

how much iam looking for running costs? and parts? it'll hardly be used since i wont be able to drive everywhere as a student.

I think you will find that the running cost we be the reason they are so cheap ;)

I wouldn't expect much more than 20mpg and if its not been looked after then parts can beexpensive.

Great car and spending a little more may save you allot in the future ;)

i have recently bought an a4. a very nice clean car with full history. but over the last 6 weeks, i have had to spend £1200 on it. every thing you could imagine has gone wrong. its all done now though. be careful

yeah, thats the thing, if insurance is a round £800 looking to spend £2000-£2500 on the car, then what ever left is put aside for repairs etc out of £4000
but first of all i need to see if iam actually getting that amount!
