Hi, first of all great site, packed full of useful info so thank you very much.
I have just bought a 1.8 Audi 80 B3 ('89) and it is very difficult to change down or up into second. Now i assume that this is the synchromesh gone on this so a couple of questions.
1. Is it going to be easier/cheaper to replace the entire box with a second hand unit or get the synchromesh done?
2. How much should i expect for a garage to carry out this work labour wise and any idea on parts costs?
3. I have seen a second hand box on ebay for a 2.0 e audi 80 ('90), would this fit my car?
