Rcd300???

Please explain!!! my new Passat has what I thought was the same Radio as the part exchanged Touran except on closer inspection has 8 rectangular buttons and not 10 as per the Touran and the TIM function is missing. It seems like a lower rent unit in a higher rent car, are they both called RCD300?

There's at least 2 versions of the rcd300. one that plays mp3s, and an earlier one that doesn't. I'm guessing the the mp3 version is the one with more buttons

It looks like you used to have the RCD500, now you've got the RCD300? I wouldn't worry, neither of them are great anyway.

Greenfield, what you need is one of these :biggthump :-

Kenwood DDX5022 DVD Receiver.

It comes complete with Facia adapter (£20), Ipod lead (£20), Fakra Cable (£15), Din cable (£20), Connects 2 Can-bus adapter (£85) for a VW, receipt from April this year. I want about £350 for the lot plus postage if your interested (or anyone else??) and thats a good £200 off.

Thanks for the responses, yes It does look like the Touran had the RCD500 so that explains it.
Thank you for the offer of the Kenwood above however I only listen to Radio 2 and Radio 4 so the RCD300 sounds fine to me!!!
