View Full Version : Question s5 style matt chrome mirrors - good or bad

My first post. Just over 3 weeks to go before I pick up my Lava Grey A4 Avant 2.0 TDi 170 S-Line with a few toys and I am already thinking about sourcing a set of S5 style matt chrome mirrors to finish the look. Has anyone gone down this road and where did you source them? There are ones on EBay referred to elsewhere in the forum but are they good quality?

It's all a personal preference. I'd personally say no. Sure I have seen a pic somewhere of someone that had done this and I didn't like the look. I'll have a search later!!

Your car will look sweet with the matte alu mirrors- they work very well against grey and black cars. Look at my profile pics to see against phantom black on a B7 Avant

If you like them , fit them. It is your car after all.

Personally , I think they look awesome :)

Currently sitting here polishing mine up before i put them on my car.

What is everyone's experience in sourcing B8 compatible housings that have the indicator slot? Anyone got a source they could recommend?

There is a seller on eBay that seems to have a lot of OEM mirror caps for both the B7 and B8 that I would recommend as I bought mine from him. Can't remember his username though- just search for S5 mirror caps, they should be selling for around the £120 mark

I have invested in these ones the cheapest way to get them is to go on ebay.de there is a lot of sales there and I got them with international shipping for about £85-90

I will fit them and post picture as fast as I get my car (less then 1 week) hope it will be great with misano red
