Hi All,
My dad's changed pretty much all electrical items under the bonnet and his car is still 'kangarooing' down the road, usually when changing into 3rd.
He said it sounds like it's not firing on all cyclinders!?
Plugs, cap, rotor and leads all changed, and also Redex'd,still the same.

I suggested the injectors, but does qnyone else have any ideas?

(It's a 2.0 petrol estate, if that helps).

Thanks
Matt

He may wanna change the Lambda/O2 sensor...It will need a diagnostic scan though.

I think we had that go on our mk5 golf, went back a couple of times in fact. I'll point him in the direction of our local dealer, although I guess that'll be pricey. Thanks for the reply.

for sure the lambda sensor will cause the engine to run poorly and stall on idle, not cheap though

Mine would start then immediately stop. What I did was re-seat all the the plugs that go to the sensors along the air intake duct and any others that looked suspect. Give them all a few 'ins' and 'outs' to scrape the contacts clean, to provide a good signal path. It was a shot in the dark but worked for me. I work in the electronics industry and re-seating electronics circuit boards is a common fix to get things going again. :biglaugh:
