Hi all,

Just recently my 80 has been having a cold start issue (its the 2.6 v6). I know the 4 cylinder ones have issues with the cold start valve occasionally. I'm just wondering if this is the same problem? if so, where is the cold start valve and where is the best place to source a spare?

the symptoms are:
1st attempt at starting, it will crank but not fire.
2nd attempt usually fires but stalls shortly after.
3rd attempt, it fires but the idle wis weak. If the throttle is pressed it usually drops the revs and tries to stall unless you keep pressing the throttle.

After a few minutes it returns to normal, you can switch it off and start again and it fires straight up.

Cheers for your help.

ok guys, been reading around and reckon its a fuel issue. either pump, filter or injector.

instead of starting it right up ive tried leaving it on the ignition a few times to prime the system, no joy there tho. i dont think its the pump as there is no whining at all. Ive not checked the filter (probably easy and cheap enough to change anyway)

but how do i check the injectors? pretty sure that removing them will destro the o rings anyway...?

cheers for any help.
