Its an A3. When i handed them a cheque for the £500 to secure my car they told me £10,500 the car is here next week and suddenly they can only get an offer of 7K amazingly.

That's bad. Easy for me to say, but you should tell them to put the Scirocco where the sun don't shine. Yes they will I doubt have no trouble selling the Scirocco but they would not get my money pulling a stunt like that.

I am also sure your car would sell no problem.

When you plced your order did they not put the trade-in price for yours on the order form?
I would speak to the sales manager to see what he can do. Tell him you understand the market is difficult but 30% less than initial valuation is too much.
Good luck.

Looks like Scirocco cancelled refunding deposit and getting an Audi S3 instead. Will keep you all updated. Very disappointed in Volkswagen in general now. We even asked if we got another car at the same time if this would sway them and it was still a no.

That's dissapointing mate. It's not VW though it's the dealer.

If you still want a Scirocco I know where you can get one pretty quick. Possibly not the same spec but if interested you can pm me and I will give you details of my contact.

the trade are very wary of A3s, 2.0tfsi's and 3.2s not holding there value at all, i have an 06 sline sportback tfsi with 52k on th lcok and offered a smidge over £11k, to put this in perspective when i sld my 04 tdi sport 3 door with similar mileage two years ago px was £12.5k, my audi dealer could not give me a better price either so i walked away from an s3 as likely to have a similar hit. my has attracted little interest on autotrader for £12.5k and cursing not buying a mkv gti two years ago as a3s are a little unloved

Well i can basically have whatever i want, i chose the Scirocco cos they look the dogs dangly's and not many around. So do you think i'm better off scrapping the S3 and get an A5 3.0 TDI quattro depreciation won't be a factor as it will be a contract hire car.

Go for whatever you feel most comfortable with and what you think you will enjoy driving the most.

Me personally though given the choice between the 2 it would be A5 3.0TDI Auto.:beerchug:

Must admit the A5 is one fine looking car.

jasegled, any news on your 3.2 value, after 3 weeks of quiet in autotrader and a couple of cars looks like my 06 2.0tfsi with 52k on the clock has gone for £12.5K today which taking into accounts i need to hire something is a vast improvement on the trade in, the guy mentioned he was put off the 3.2 due to C02 and fuel consumption

Wigit no movement at all on the price so its cancelled at the moment. Audi offered £7500 so we've put it on hold haven't advertised it privately yet may keep it a bit longer it can't shed that much more money.
