New on here wondered if anyone is able to help. I have a 2003 Bora 1.9 tdi 100bhp with a rather annoying slipping auxiliary belt. I took it to a local garage when I first bought it 2months ago and had the belt changed and the tensioner changed at about £150.00(on the garages advise). It seemed to work for a while but the fault reoccurred recently so another trip to the garage. The mechanic scratched his head some what, checked the tensioner(which he said was working) then fitted another belt free of charge, the problem is still there. The slipping mainly happens when on hard lock manoeuvring up a hill for example or pulling away up a hill. Could anyone please give me advise on what the problem is so I can at least go back to the garage armed with some knowledge to get the fault sorted as its driving me bonkers
